Water Beads Color Mixing, Counting & Multiplication

Water Beads, Color Mixing, Counting & Multiplication

Today, her friend was here. It was the perfect chance to give our new water colors a try! I re-purposed last week’s Water Beads to today’s bit of fun.

FYI: BABY CUBES are a great tool to have.   While I never used them to make mush as we followed the Baby Led Weaning Principle, they are now being used daily for our arts and crafts.  They are perfect for our needs. The white tray has even been used to create some melt and pour soap.

I had them put three in each hole. Then, proceeded to say 3,6,9,12 and so on. That makes 8 holes of 3. We have 24. Then, they had to share a tray where there were 5 in each hole. So, each had 20. Each had 4 holes of 5, which gives you 20. I continued to talk like that and about the color mixing, primary and secondary colors. I had them each mix the colors to create the secondary colors. A medicine dropper works great for this.

FYI: The water beads do absorb some of the color but not a significant amount. The water beads give a visual and tactile experience to what would have been just water in holes.
